Service: Power and Controls Overhaul.
Scope: Complete overhaul of the 480V power and controls including remote control for the sluice gates at the Bearspaw hydro-dam. This project has a lot of obstacles based on location of the work and access to the top of the dam platform. As part of our scope of work we are required to move new equipment to the top of the platform and in turn take the old gear back down. This was exceptionally challenging because to use a crane we had to reach over the generation building to place the gear on the top of the platform. Stratus had to come up with a plan and decided that the best way to do this lift was with a helicopter which was something we have never done before.
